Margie Giles – Office Manager
Margie joined our team in 2015 after working in the optometric field for 27 years. She has had a love of animals all her life and is thrilled to be working so closely now with them now! Margie has three children and two grandchildren, and lives in Sanford with her Pitbull, Sophie and her Boxer, Bull. We at SAH, are so happy that Margie found her way here!
Michelle Walker – Lead Receptionist
Michelle is originally from New York and now resides in Sanford with her fiancé, Joe, her two children, Xander and Sydney, a foxhound named Leah, and a lab named Logan. She came to Sanford Animal Hospital in 2012, after deciding to leave the funeral service business where she worked as a licensed funeral director, to spend more time with her family. Michelle is also very active with the Save A Lab Rescue. She will always greet you with a smile and a laugh on your way out the door!
Arline Toler – Receptionist
Arline is originally from San Diego, California and moved to Sanford, North Carolina in 2017 to be closer to family. She had been working as a veterinary receptionist for the last 10 years in California. She was hired at Sanford Animal Hospital in 2017 as a receptionist, and loves being part of our busy practice. Arline has two dogs, a lab-mix named Ginny and a pug named Gogo, and two cats named Luna and Hermione.
Arline is grateful to be part of the Sanford Animal Hospital team and looks forward to meeting you at the front desk.
Amy Douglas – Receptionist / Cold Laser Assistant
Amy is back working with all of us at Sanford Animal Hospital, and we could not be happier! She is currently working as a receptionist and will transition into an assistant for Cold Laser Therapy and Acupuncture. Amy loves working with the animals and clients; she has worked as a veterinary assistant in the past and so is such a great help to all areas of our practice.
Kim Mcleod, RVT – Lead Veterinary Technician
Kim grew up in Rochester, NY and moved to North Carolina in 1985 to attend the Veterinary Technician program at Central Carolina Community College. After graduation she worked the College for 11 years as the lab facility manager and animal clinical practices lab assistant. She left that job to work as a large animal hospital supervisor at NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine for the next five years, and then worked in private practice with Apex Equine Hospital before coming to settle at Sanford Animal Hospital as one of our primary technicians. Kim loves all animals, but has a special passion for dogs and horses. Kim has three dogs, Lucky, Ellie Mae and Ginger, and a horse named Smokin’s Frostbite. She always has a hug ready for you if you are having a bad day!
Heather Corbin, RVT – Veterinary Technician
Heather graduated from Central Carolina Community College in 2005 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science Veterinary Medical Technology. She has been working at Sanford Animal Hospital since the spring of 2005. Her interests include client education, patient care, and international health certificates. If you need to travel with your dog anywhere in the world, she will get you there! Heather lives with her husband, Brandon. They have been married only two years, but they are high school sweethearts! She also has a sweet Pitbull name Rocket and four cats that still live at home with her parents (they just aren’t ready to leave the nest.) In her spare time, Heather enjoys family time, shopping, fishing, and photography.
Morgan Asbill, RVT – Veterinary Technician
Morgan has been at Sanford Animal Hospital since 2012. She starting working in the kennels and is currently one of our wonderful Veterinary Technicians. We could not get through the days without her! She recently graduated from the Central Carolina Community College with a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology, and we were so happy when she accepted a position here.
Morgan is particularly interested in pet dentistry, wellness, and providing exceptional care to our hospital patients. She is also very creative and helps to keep us organized. She lives with two adorable beagles named Abby Lou and Lucy, and a mischievous cat named Silas who can open the refrigerator door!
Dustin Strickland, RVT – Veterinary Technician
Dustin joined the Sanford Animal Hospital team in August of 2013, first working in our kennel and then as an assistant, to help him towards his goal of becoming a Certified Veterinary Technician. He graduated from Central Carolina Community College as a Veterinary Technician in May of 2017. We are happy to say he accepted a full-time position here with us and look forward too many years of working with Dustin.
He is interested in learning more about behavior and animals, as this is such an important part of what we do and how to understand why our animals do the things they do. In his spare time, Dustin is a big football fan, the Baltimore Ravens are his favorite team. He is also a big foody and loves all types of food, is a fan a Star Wars, and enjoys rock music and fishing. We are lucky to have him here and look forward to helping him learn and grow as a Veterinary Technician.
Tara Gillis, RVT — Veterinary Technician
Originally from Fayetteville, NC, Tara moved to Sanford to attend the Veterinary Medical Technology Program at Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) and graduated in May of 2018. Tara joined the Sanford Animal Hospital team in August of 2017 as a veterinary assistant while finishing her degree at CCCC. When she graduated, we promptly hired her as a veterinary technician!
When not at work, Tara, enjoys her two dogs, Scamp and Millie. Tara is smart, fun and loves the animals – she is a great asset to our hospital and we are so glad she is part of our team.
Angel Timkey — Veterinary Assistant
Angel has been working at Sanford Animal Hospital since February 2018. She is originally from upstate New York, but she likes the North Carolina winters much better! She has been working with animals for over 15 years and is a wonderful team member. She is a mother of four humans and one puppy named Kimber. She loves traveling, music and being outdoors.
Angel believes if you make one person smile a day life is good. She makes all of us smile every day, so she is doing her job well.
Baylee Heath — Veterinary Assistant
Baylee was born in San Angelo, TX and grew up here in Sanford, NC. She continues to reside in Sanford with her four-legged companion, Piper. She has a fiancé, who is currently serving in the US Air Force. Baylee is currently attending Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) to become a veterinary technician and plans to graduate in May of 2020.
Baylee is doing a fantastic job here while learning and we all enjoy helping her learn and grow!
Olivia Shaw — Veterinary Assistant
In April 2018, Olivia asked to shadow our veterinarians and gain knowledge for future in the veterinary profession but we quickly realized she would be a wonderful asset to our team as an assistant and so we offered her a job! She is currently taking classes at Central Carolina Community College and hopes to attend Veterinary School at North Carolina State University (NCSU) in 2020.
Olivia lives at home with her dogs, Peaches, a Havanese, and Buddy, an English Setter. She enjoys horseback riding and has a Paint mare, Allie Blue, whom she loves very much. She is passionate about horses and hopes to study equine reproduction after veterinary school.
Lindi Renwick – Kennel Manager
Lindi has worked on and off at Sanford Animal Hospital for the past 30 years. For the past four years, she has worked here full time as the Kennel Manager. She graduated from a Veterinary Technician program in 1989, but prefers to care for dogs and cats that are boarding here and need a little extra care and love while you are away from home. Lindi lives with two dogs, a lab mix named Wilson and a Great Dane named Otis. She also has three cats, Squirrely, Simon and Spanky. In her spare time she enjoys running, sleeping, and collecting Beanie Babies. She has two daughters, Anna and Lori, which we have all enjoyed watching grow up with while Lindi has worked here at Sanford Animal Hospital.
Marie Dandron – Kennel Assistant
Marie has worked at Sanford Animal Hospital for seven years as a kennel technician, caring for all of the boarding cats and dogs. She is a wonderful asset to our team and truly enjoys the animals she cares for. Marie lives with two cats - Dallas is her baby girl named after her favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, and Pokey is her boy cat whom she has had for eight years. Marie also helps with the feral cat population in her neighborhood by having all the stray cats spayed and neuter when she can catch them. You can rest assured that when your pet is boarding here at Sanford Animal Hospital, they are getting the very best care possible from Marie!
Peyton Fox – Kennel Assistant
Peyton joined his sister, Deanna, in April of 2016, here at Sanford Animal Hospital. This is Peyton’s first job, working in our kennel, and he is doing a wonderful job! We are very happy he came to join our team. Peyton is 16-years-old and currently attends high school. He enjoys being part of the hospital and especially loves being around all the dogs and cats! He lives with his mom and his Pitbull, Georgia. Outside of work, he loves Netflix and shopping. Peyton says he sees himself working here for a long time, and we hope that is true!
Jenna Elliott – Kennel Assistant
Jenna recently joined our kennel team in the summer of 2016. Not only have the animals benefited from her, but all the staff has as well, because she loves to bake! She even drops off bakery goods on her days off for us to eat. Jenna is a junior in high school and has been a competitive swimmer for the past seven years. She has been around dogs her entire life - she has a 7-year-old Papillion named Charmher, and mom has bred Border Collies and is a very talented dog trainer. In her spare time, Jenna likes to backpack with her dad, play the guitar, and hopes to one day travel the world and open a bakery in Segovia, Spain. We will do what we can to support her dreams and keep eating her cookies, cupcakes, and whatever else she will bake for us!
Mackayla Fry – Kennel Assistant
Mackayla is originally from Pennsylvania, but now lives in Sanford. She started working at Sanford Animal Hospital in June of 2016, as part of our kennel team. She quickly became a very valuable member and works quite well with the dogs and cats. Mackayla is a junior in high school and plays in the marching band, as well as many sports. She hopes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, possibly with the Military and work with bomb sniffing dogs! But first, she wants to travel the world with her best friends. We will hopefully be here to help her make all her dreams come true!
Don Partridge — Kennel Assistant
Don starting working at Sanford Animal Hospital in September 2017. He is working with Lindi in the kennels caring for all of our boarding clients. We could not be happier, as not only is he wonderful with all the animals, we now also have ready-made Handy Man on staff!
You will see Don mowing the grass, blowing the leaves from the parking lot and up on roof changing the furnace filters! Our surgery suite also got a new coat of paint – thank you Don for becoming a valuable member of SAH!
Sarah Cruz — Kennel Assistant
Sarah was born in Newburgh, NY but now resides in Sanford with her family. She is newly married and has two dogs, Eva and Dandy, and two cats, Mimi and Lucy.
She is looking forward to learning all she can at Sanford Animal Hospital and taking care of the dogs and cats that spend their vacations here!
Amanda Blakely – Pet Groomer
Amanda has been grooming animals at Sanford Animal Hospital since 2003. She enjoys grooming both dogs and cats to create the perfect haircut for your pet. She is very patient and willing to spend the extra time to make sure that your pet gets the personal attention to ensure a happy grooming experience. Most dogs love coming to spend the day with her!
Amanda and her husband, Michael, welcomed their son, Kyler, in the summer of 2015. They live on a farm with horses, cows, and chickens. In her free time, Amanda enjoys showing in dressage horse shows.
